Ryan J. Vanderhoof was born in Portland, Oregon. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in finance from the University of Oregon in 1995. He graduated from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College in 1998. After graduation, he accepted a position as a law clerk to Lane County Circuit Court Judge Gregory G. Foote. He subsequently joined the firm as an associate, and became a partner in 2005.

Ryan's practice is focused on civil litigation, with an emphasis on assisting employers dealing with all aspects of employment issues, including Oregon Bureau of Labor (BOLI), EEOC, discrimination and wrongful discharge complaints. He represents clients in administrative proceedings and state and federal courts. He also has appeared at the Oregon Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit, and the Oregon Court of Appeals. Ryan received the highest rating for ability and ethical (AV). Ryan served on the Board of Directors of the Southern Oregon Humane Society and was President of the Jackson County Attorneys Bar Association, 2008. He is currently on the Board of Directors for Southern Oregon Goodwill Industries. Ryan spends his free time with his wife Maisie, and their sons Aidan and Dylan. He also enjoys reading history, playing poker, and attending University of Oregon sporting events.
