 Bob Cowling is an Oregon native, having grown up along the Columbia River. After earning both his bachelor’s degree and his law degree at the University of Oregon, he moved to Medford in 1965 and began a distinguished civil litigation career primarily focused on the representation of doctors, hospitals, attorneys, accountants and other professionals. In 1980, Bob became one of the founding partners of Cowling & Heysell, one of the two firms that later merged to form Hornecker, Cowling, Hassen & Heysell, LLP. Bob and his wife, Jean, are both active in the community, and in his spare time, Bob is an avid outdoorsman and private pilot. He is a member of the Jackson County and American Bar Associations; Oregon State Bar; Oregon Association of Defense Counsel (Board of Directors, 1981-1985); Defense Research Institute; American Board of Trial Advocates; Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel; American College of Trial Lawyers; State Professional Responsibility Board 1987-1990 (Chair 1989-1990); 9th Circuit Judicial Conference 1993 – 1995 (Lawyer Representative, Oregon District, Chair 1995); and the Federal Bar Association – Oregon (Board of Directors, 1996-1998). |
