Michael was born and raised in Medford, Oregon, and after a long journey elsewhere, returned to his roots to raise his family. Michael graduated from Lewis and Clark College, where he studied Biology and Latin American History. After a short stint in Boston, Massachusetts, Michael joined the United States Peace Corps. and spent three years in Bolivia; the first two years as an agricultural extensionist and the third year within the Peace Corps. administration. Upon his return to the United States, Michael attended Boston University where he received a M.A. in International Relations and Resource Environmental Management. He subsequently worked in Miami, Florida, and Washington, D.C., as a private contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy, managing international environmental remediation projects. Michael attained his law degree from Lewis and Clark Law School, graduating cum laude. Thereafter, Michael practiced in Portland for six years. After his second daughter was born, he and his wife decided they wanted to raise their family in a smaller town and returned to Medford. Michael's background in business compliments his practice in real estate, construction, business, and debtor/creditor litigation, as well as business and real estate transactions. Michael practices in both state and federal courts and handles private arbitrations and mediations. Outside of work, Michael enjoys exploring all Southern Oregon has to offer and introducing his wife and two daughters to the places and activities he enjoyed in his youth. In addition, when he gets the chance, Michael enjoys fly-fishing and tackling the numerous home improvement projects that await him. |
